Responsibilities:


We deliver on the promise State Farm has made to each customer, allowing them to see the value State Farm brings to their lives as they recover from the unexpected. We have the opportunity to bring calm to stressful situations and give them confidence that we are here to help through life’s disruptions. HCCS Stewardship handles property claims reported in a consistent, predictable manner, generally with minimal spikes in volume in a call center environment. These claims may need one to two inspections completed by an assignment claim specialist (ACS).

  • Leads team toward desired individual, team, department and company goals
  • May participate in weather and catastrophe planning and response
  • May be responsible for the coordination and direction of work assignments of independent adjusters and/or temporary employees during periods of heightened activity
  • Reviews claim files, applies knowledge of Fire claim policies, statutes, laws, regulations, programs, practices, and procedures to provide guidance on quality claim handling
  • Makes decisions and provides direction as appropriate regarding, claim valuation, settlement negotiations, and policy provisions
  • Serves as a resource for standard claim processes and is responsible for adherence to workflows/processes
  • Handles or directs escalated inquiries including complaints
  • Communicates and implements Company policies, claim procedures, applicable laws, statutes, regulations, and legal requirements
  • Demonstrates understanding and serves as a resource for Company policies and external requirements for claims involving litigation
  • Leads frequent team meetings using relevant metrics, and spends significant time directly coaching team members
  • Develops direct reports so they can provide a high level of customer service and be productive in their roles
  • Responsible for performance evaluation of assigned team members
  • Responsible for daily application of Company policies and procedures and recommends ways to improve
  • Serves as a liaison between Fire Claims and other claim segments
  • May participate in annual budgetary process as appropriate
  • Participates and/or leads project groups, as requested
  • Mentors others, either formally or informally
Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE – current or recent prior Fire experience is preferred.

HOURS OF OPERATION:
The anticipated hours of operation will be Mon-Sat 7 am - 7 pm, customer time. As such, depending on the customer time zone and employee office location, employee shifts may fall outside of Mon-Sat 7 am - 7 pm employee time. Although claim team managers are not assigned a shift per se, the successful candidate selected for this position may be expected to work irregular hours, weekends, and holidays based on workload and job requirements.

LICENSING: The successful candidate selected for this position will receive a job offer stating that continued employment as a Claim Team Manager is contingent upon meeting the requirements necessary to obtain appropriate state(s) mandated licenses. This includes successfully completing all applicable licensing exam(s), and background checks required of various state(s). Failure to do so may result in termination.
